1. Which airlines are not recommended for flying?

The European Commission has published the list of air carriers subject to an operating ban within the Community referred to in the Regulation (EC) No. 2111/2005 of the European Parliament and the of the Council. The first list specifies all airlines subject to an operating ban in Europe. The second list specifies airlines which operation in Europe is restricted by applying special requirements. These lists are often updated and published in the Official Journal of the European Union. Lists are appended as Annexes to the Commission Regulation, i.e., A, B. Each user, before taking action (on the basis of the information provided in the lists), should make sure that it is the latest version of the list.
